ABOUT DANCEFESTOPIA
Started in 2011, Dancefestopia has evolved into a 7-day music and camping festival, located just outside Kansas City at the Wildwood Outdoor Education Center. Dancefestopia is a 100% independently operated music festival, one of the few remaining in America.

VENUE
Wildwood Outdoor Education Center has been Dancefestopia's home since 2018. When we're not here, Wildwood Outdoor Education Center is a non-profit children's camp. A percentage of the proceeds is donated to the venue to support their programming. In addition to our donations, our team works year-round at the venue to make improvements that benefit the camp.
CAMPING
Dancefestopia provides a unique camping experience that sets it apart from other festivals. Instead of camping in an open field, you'll find yourself nestled in a lush forest alongside your friends. The Camping in the Forest area is tent-only and only accessible only by "hiking in" your belongings. and is designated for tent camping, promoting a deeper connection with nature and fostering a stronger sense of community.
ACTIVITIES
Welcome back to Summer Camp! Since our venue is a children's camp, we offer some unique features for our music festival. In the heart of the venue, you can complete a ropes course that concludes with a zipline, canoe around the pond, fish near the Lollipop Stage, or cool off at the swimming pool. Additionally, be sure to visit the Rekinection Stage for workshops throughout the weekend.
ART & INTERACTIVE
Explore the different corners of the Emerald City, where each area offers its own unique experiences. You never know what you might discover! From immersive projection domes to playing Blackjack with trinkets, and with brilliant lights illuminating the surroundings, you’re sure to find a hidden nook filled with wonder.
VENDORS
Explore the rows of food and craft vendors to discover a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry, a cozy jacket, or perhaps a tasty snack. We have vendor villages located in both the venue and the campgrounds. The campground vendor village is open from Monday to Sunday, while the venue vendor village is open from Thursday to Sunday.
LEARNING
A music festival encompasses more than just the music; it serves as a space for learning and connection. Throughout the weekend, workshops such as hoop dancing, vision boards, clay sculptures, and more can be found.
MUSIC & Stages
Over 250+ artists from across the United States bring their talents to Dancefestopia. The event features many national artists that you know & love, up-and-coming artists from our national DJ competition, the Yellow Brick Road Tour, and regional talent from across the Midwest.
EMERALD STAGE
The crown jewel of the Emerald City, the Emerald Stage is a breathtaking spectacle that showcases unforgettable productions. With dazzling fireworks lighting up the night sky, mesmerizing lasers dancing through the air, and powerful PK speakers that deliver heart-pounding bass, every performance is an immersive experience. The excitement kicks off with the legendary Thursday Pre-Party, setting the stage for an electric atmosphere filled with music, energy, and unforgettable memories
lollipop Stage
From the afternoon until sunrise, the Lollipop Stage promises to mesmerize every visitor. As you embark on your journey down the whimsical Lollipop Lane, you'll encounter a vibrant tapestry of art installations and intriguing wonders that will spark your imagination. Each step you take brings you closer to the enchanting Lollipop Stage, a truly magical space. Here, amidst a backdrop of twinkling lights and lively performances, you’ll experience the breathtaking moment when the sun rises gracefully over the tranquil lake nearby, creating a picturesque scene that enhances the magic of the night.This is where the magic happens as the sun rises over the adjacent lake.
FOREST STAGE
As the name suggests, following the Yellow Brick Road will lead you to an enchanting stage nestled beneath the thick canopy of the forest. This hidden gem comes to life with programming that kicks off on Monday, transforming the area into a true haven for campers. You'll have the opportunity to enjoy a diverse lineup of musical performances throughout the week. Whether you prefer to relax at your campsite, allowing the melodies to drift through the trees, or set up a comfortable chair closer to the stage for a more immersive experience, there’s something for everyone. Prepare for a week filled with vibrant music and a sense of community in this magical setting.
REKINECTION STAGE
The Rekinection Stage offers a beautiful haven for personal exploration and connection with those around you. This vibrant space combines the soothing elements of music, meditation, yoga, and breathtaking aerial and fire performances, creating an enchanting experience. Throughout the afternoons and early evenings, the stage comes alive with invigorating yoga sessions, engaging workshops, and a creative station where you can unleash your artistic side. As the sun dips below the horizon, the atmosphere transforms into a mesmerizing spectacle, featuring pulsating music, captivating fire dancers, and skilled aerialists soaring gracefully through the twilight sky. This dynamic space invites you to immerse yourself in a world of creativity, connection, and inspiration.
POOL STAGE
Where the beats ignite the atmosphere and the water offers a refreshing escape, the Pool Stage becomes your ideal afternoon oasis. Picture yourself lounging poolside, soaking up the sun, as you gaze over the vibrant Emerald stage. All weekend long, the air is filled with the pulsating rhythms of house music, creating an electrifying ambiance. Dive into the cool waters, unwind, and let the music elevate your spirits!
